This Blinder Road 400 is my second Blinder Road. I bought my first one (BR 200) in 2015, and after hundreds of multi hour rides, hundreds of recharging cycles, the old standby is still going great. I use the eco-flash mode exclusively and I still get about 3+1/2 hours before the low battery indicator lights up. I bought the new Blinder Road because some of my rides are lasting longer than that, and now I can switch to the other light when needed. The new one lasts 4+1/2 hours before the low battery indicator lights up (the light continues to flash for some time after this, but I think it best not to drain the battery past that point).
I like the design and shape of the Blinder Road. To me, its look is uniquely modern while evoking the Art Deco designs of almost a century ago. The buttons are raised, more easily found with the fingertips than on the older model I have, but the mode functions are the same: eco-flash, flood, spot, and flood/spot combo. The Hi/Lo button works for each mode selection, but I use the Lo level unless I'm riding through a tunnel. The two CREE LEDs are plenty bright (on Lo Eco-flash) for general daylight riding but don't seem overly bright to oncoming drivers. The silicone straps and are very reliable yet are easily and quickly unfastened when the ride is over. I got years of use from the two straps that came with the original light. Overall, I will simply say that I liked the old model so much that I bought another one and I'm very pleased.
Small but nice upgrade from the older Knogs i had especially the 2 switches being proud on body, more tactile and way easier to find and activate in the dark.
Side lighting is a good thing as well. Just wish the battery was a little bigger for more runtime.
Perfect light for my needs. I wanted a compact commuter light. Something bright enough to get me home on my very dark commute home, but compact enough and easy on/off so that I can stash it in a bag as needed.
Defintiely bright enough for riding in full darkness as long as your ride isn't too long.
I love my Blinder Road 400 front bike light. It's a very compact size that doesn't take up much handlebar space yet delivers a powerful, twin beam of light that really illuminates the roadway. I also love the side-by-side, dual beam design that gives you plenty of illumination options.
The best bike lights out. Convenient with usb, super bright and safe and dont take up a lot of space.
Please make a more adjustable bell to fit more handlebar widths!
