Blinder 1300 Front Bike Light
Lumens are a measure of the total amount of visible light from a light source. The higher the lumen rating the “brighter” the light will appear.

What a brilliant light the blinder 1300 is ! I live in deepest Brittany so not a lot of street lights out of towns, the light has certainly opened up lots of roads and tracks I wouldn’t have dared tackle after dark before getting this light!
When my old PWR Trail 1000 lumen front bike light began to malfunction, probably because of being frequently exposed to rain, I began researching for a replacement front bike light equipped with a tighter enclosure and a better handle mount. Despite negative reviews stating that the Blinder 1300 easily falls from its mount, I took the risks and bought it. Surprisingly I received not only the front light and the two mounts, but also an USB-C charging cable. The Knog Blinder 1300 front light is brighter than the PWR Trail Front Light, while battery life is comparable between the two, particularly when not using Blinder's 1300-lumen mode for too long (I mostly use the Eco Flash during the day and Low or Medium Steady during the night). Knog's Blinder 1300 front light weighs less than the PWR Trail 1000, cannot be disassembled, and has a better IP rating (IP67). It also weighs just 180 g, much less than the 230 g of Knog PWR Trail 1000. Differently from PWR Trail, the Blinder 1300 front light doesn't work as a powerbank, but I seldom needed to use this feature of my old front light. Because of other reviews, I took the precaution of attaching a spare lanyard to the Blinder 1300 (pictures) so that in the unlikely event of it getting detached from the bike, it wouldn't get lost or damaged. But, as I learned during the following weeks, this wasn't really necessary; I rode my bike with Knog's Blinder 1300 front light securely attached on pretty rough terrain and the light stayed firmly attached to its rubber handlebar mount. It is of utmost importance to properly attach the light to the mount, and usually a "click" should be heard when it gets properly locked in place. One feature I miss is the 4 red led battery level indicator of PWR 1000 (indicating charge above 75%, 50%, 25% and 0%). The Blinder 1300 indicator is steady green when charge is above 50%, then steady red between 10 and 50%, and blinking red when less than 10% of charge is left (the latter may be too late to begin saving power). Anyway, Knog's Blinder 1300 Front Light more than deserves a 5-star rating. Congratulations, Knog!
My existing Knog lights failed after countless years on my daily commute. So back to the brand I know ... Knog. Upgraded to the blinder 1300 and what a difference 10 years makes. No excuse for riding off the path except user error or intentionally looking for that short cut home. It throws enough light out in front so you can navigate any situation.
Excellent light, in general. The 1300 mode is 1.5 h max of continuous use and even shorter in really cold weather so I only use it really dark spots and traffic’s areas during long rides. The button makes it easy to change modes on the fly.
The 650 mode is generally more than enough. But a longer life on 1300 would have given it 5 stars.
Other than that, attachments are great and light is high quality.
